SEJOE

SEJOE

Special Event

Affectionately known as the “Haitian Dave Chappelle,” Sejoe (born Alexandre Ducasse) is a Haitian-American comedian, writer, and cultural force redefining how the world sees Haitian humor. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Haiti amid political upheaval including a coup d’état and American military intervention. Sejoe transforms his lived experience into fearless, thought-provoking comedy rooted in language, identity, and cultural truth.

In 2020, Sejoe made history with “Nou Chaje ak Pwoblèm,” the first-ever stand-up special in Haitian history, which premiered on Amazon Prime to critical acclaim. Performed primarily in Haitian Creole, the special blends folklore, politics, religion, and diaspora life into a comedic milestone that gave voice to a global Haitian identity.

Now, he’s doing it again. Sejoe’s highly anticipated second special, “Ayisyen Pale, Ayisyen Konprann,” the second Haitian stand-up special in history, will premiere in Fall 2025, expanding his legacy as a pioneer of Creole-language comedy and cultural storytelling.

With over 50 million views on YouTube and more than 500,000 followers across social media, Sejoe has cultivated a devoted audience through viral sketches, stand-up, and his educational “Word of the Day” series. He also created the groundbreaking AI-generated podcast Time Capsule with Sejoe, where he interviews animated Haitian historical figures like Toussaint Louverture, Catherine Flon and Thomas Jefferson to preserve oral history in a fresh, accessible format.

In 2025, Sejoe shared the stage with Dave Chappelle at a Haitian culture celebration in Ohio, further cementing his role as one of the leading voices in Haitian-American comedy.

Beyond the stage, Sejoe is a producer, content creator, and documentary filmmaker who has worked with international recording artist Emeline Michel. Inspired by comedy icons like Dave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy, and George Carlin, Sejoe is carving out a lane all his own where humor, heritage, and healing collide.

His mission is simple but powerful: elevate Haitian stories, honor the Haitian language, and build a legacy of laughter that spans generations.
